If you have ever stepped into a traditional Moroccan hammam, you know the moment: warm steam, a smooth dark paste spread over your skin, and a rough glove that polishes away everything dull. That paste is Moroccan black soap, also called savon noir or Beldi soap, and it is the heart of the hammam ritual. Today you can bring that same experience home with our Argan’It black soap in Argan & Rose and pure Argan.
What Is Moroccan Black Soap?
Moroccan black soap is a gel-like, natural paste traditionally made from olive oil. Unlike a regular bar, it contains no hard fillers or heavy synthetic detergents. Its soft texture melts into warm, damp skin, and it gently softens the top layer of dead cells so they can be lifted away easily. Our Argan’It version is an artisan Beldi soap enriched with argan oil and natural essential oils, in a 250 g (8.8 oz) jar.
Why Argan & Rose?
This is our most romantic scent. The soft floral note of rose is balanced by the nourishing touch of argan oil, so the skin feels clean, soft and lightly perfumed rather than stripped. It is a lovely choice for a relaxing evening treatment, for gifting, and for spas that want a calming, feminine hammam scent.

Why Pure Argan?
If you prefer a simple, clean profile, our Argan black soap is the classic. Argan oil, often called Morocco’s liquid gold, is loved for leaving skin feeling soft and comfortable. It is a great everyday option and an easy first jar if you are new to black soap.

How to Use Moroccan Black Soap: Step by Step
- Warm up. Start with a hot shower or a few minutes in steam so your skin is damp and relaxed.
- Apply. Spread a thin layer of black soap over your body, avoiding eyes and broken skin. A little goes a long way.
- Wait. Leave it on for 3 to 5 minutes while the soap softens the skin.
- Exfoliate. With a wet kessa glove, rub in slow circles. You will see the dead skin roll off.
- Rinse. Rinse thoroughly with warm water, then finish with a splash of cool water.
- Moisturize. Pat dry and follow with a few drops of argan oil.
Use it about once a week, or less often if your skin is sensitive. Do a small patch test first if you have never used a product like this.
Complete the Ritual with a Kessa Glove
The soap does the softening, but the Moroccan exfoliating kessa glove does the polishing. Together they are the classic hammam pair. Prefer a ready-made set? Our Hammam Trio bundles black soap, henna powder and kessa gloves in one pack.
For Spas, Salons and Boutiques
Many treatment rooms use black soap as the first step of a body scrub or a back facial. Argan & Rose and Argan are two of our most requested scents for spa menus and retail shelves. We offer wholesale pricing for spas and boutiques, and we are happy to send a free sample so you can try it first. Just email us at contact@artossi.com with your address and preferred scent.
